A JUNGIAN APPROACH IN PSYCHOTHERAPY. A ROUTE-MAP TO YOUR SOUL. A SPIRITUAL INQUIRY WHERE YOU CAN MEET WITH THE TRANSCENDENT.
Psychotherapy can be a healing tool to the degree that you can turn inward to access to feelings that are difficult for you to experience and get to the parts of your being that will provide you with the wisdom and guidance that you need in each moment. In order to access your deepest Self, you need to be able to open up to your inner processes and be sincere experiencing your truth. This process, requires a great amount of courage, trust, and commitment with yourself and with the relationship with your Psychotherapist.
C. G. Jung (1875-1961) was the first Depth Psychotherapist to validate the fact that what truly helps to constellate a positive and successful therapeutic outcome is a collaborative relationship between the client and the Psychotherapist. Jung also was an advocate of the fact that rich and meaningful conversations are the way through which personal growth and healing can occur in the psychotherapeutic process.
Psychotherapy that aims to help you make changes in your life in a meaningful way is not a matter of a "quick fix." Lasting and positive changes can happen in the context of on-going practice and it is best done and consolidated together with a trusting, authentic and available dedicated other.
At times, the psychotherapeutic work can be hard when you need to be explaining what gives you trouble but it can also be a playful, fun and a rewarding process. Both unique moments are entwined, and both are healing moments along the psychotherapeutic process. They are a crucial and very important part of the psychotherapeutic journey that leads to know yourself and expand your personal choices and freedom.
My job as a Psychotherapist is to offer you a creative and non-judgmental space for you to bring forth your authentic Self in whatever form it might come. I will be at your side to listen and help you to explore different conflicts/dilemmas you might be facing. I will be supporting you, guiding you, providing you feedback and emphatic listening, for you to reach an understanding of the conscious and the unconscious patterns of thought, emotion and behavior that can be blocking your personal growth and your self-awareness.
LET ME ASSIST YOU IN CONQUERING YOUR PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE and OWN YOUR PERSONAL TRUTH and POWER.
Tools and methodologies in Depth Psychology to be used/combined in different ways to assess you and guide you in the Psychotherapeutic Process:
- DREAMS AND SYMBOLS AS A PORTAL TO ACCESS TO YOUR UNCONSCIOUS. Dream-work and symbolic images are of great help in Psychotherapy to bring a greater understanding of the unknown and explore the disown parts of ourselves that call for attention to be integrated into our lives. Images produced by the unconscious are of great assistance in the psychotherapeutic process to explore the contents of the psyche and analyze the current situation. "You must give birth to your images. They are the future waiting to be born." - Rainier Maria Rilke.
- ACTIVE IMAGINATION AS A TOOL OF REACHING HIGHER STATES OF CONSCIOUSNESS. Knowing how to access to your imagination in a practical way is a tool to self-knowledge and creativity. It can also be an activator for new possibilities to be contemplated and provide you with different options available to you at a precise moment when you need to solve a problem. As Jung said: "It is a process used to bridge the gap between the conscious and the unconscious mind" and it is indicated or highly prescribed to work out a problem on a symbolic level for the purpose of overcoming overwhelming emotional affects.
- TYPOLOGY TO KNOW YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESS IN RELATIONSHIP. Knowing your Psychological Type in the Myers-Briggs Indicator (MBTI) can help you learn and understand about your personality type and understand how and why sometimes you feel pulled-away (dislike) or your feel attracted towards (like) to others in relationships. Differences in Typology are the vast richness of the eight types of consciousness to be developed and activated in the course of the life' personal growth and to be able to know your personal preferences, strengths, and weakness.
- ARCHETYPES AND MYTH WILL CONNECT YOU WITH THE COLLECTIVE PSYCHE AND THE WISDOM OF THE WORLD. When in life we find ourselves confronted with a dilemma is very helpful to analyze the sources and themes where the pain and the suffering are rooted. Usually, we find fairy-tales, collective stories, legends, and narratives bringing psychological insights when we link those stories to a particular experience or conflict that we are facing.
Using the regular Projection and the Identification mechanisms in the Psyche, we learn to see what's the role that we play and what is the role that others play in our lives. Seeing a conflict in a broader picture can help us bring a higher understanding of a particular conflictual situation and facilitate newer and unexplored possibilities that can bring resolution to our problems in a completely new way.
THESE METHODOLOGIES CAN BE UTILIZED IN COMBINATION WITH THE BODY-PSYCHOTHERAPY TECHNIQUES.
"Today humanity, as never before is split into
two apparently irreconciliable halves. The psychological rule says that
when an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside, as
fate. That is to say, when the individual remains undivided and does not
become conscious of his inner contradictions, the world must perforce
act out the conflict and be torned into opposite halves." - Carl G. Jung, 1959
